Frequently Asked Questions

💧 Borehole Drilling

We drill boreholes ranging from 50m to over 300m, depending on the local geology and groundwater table depth. The exact depth is determined by the hydrogeological survey we conduct before drilling. Most residential boreholes in Kenya range from 80–180m.
A standard residential borehole takes 3–7 days from rig mobilization to completion, including casing, grouting, and development. Commercial or deep boreholes (200m+) may take 10–14 days. We will give you a specific timeline during the quotation stage.
We strongly recommend a survey. Using Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES), our geologists identify the best locations to drill, estimate water depth, and predict yield. This significantly reduces the risk of drilling a dry or low-yield borehole. Skipping the survey can be a costly mistake.
With proper hydrogeological surveys, the chances of finding water are very high. In the rare event of a dry hole, we conduct a thorough review and recommend an alternative drilling location. Our survey-backed approach achieves over 95% success rates in most parts of Kenya.
Yes. We assist our clients with all Water Resources Management Authority (WRMA) permits and registration requirements. This includes borehole registration, pump testing reports, and water abstraction permits. We handle the paperwork so you don't have to.

☀️ Solar Systems

Borehole solarization means replacing your existing grid-powered or generator-powered pump with a solar-powered pump system. We install solar panels, MPPT solar controllers, and compatible solar submersible pumps that run directly on solar energy — no electricity bills, no fuel costs.
Yes. Modern solar pumps can operate at reduced capacity even on cloudy days. For areas with frequent cloud cover, we recommend sizing the system larger or adding battery storage. Kenya has excellent solar irradiance year-round, making solar an ideal solution.
This depends on your pump's power rating (kW), daily water requirement, and borehole depth. Our engineers will calculate the exact system size during the site assessment. A typical residential system might need 4–8 panels (400W each), while a farm system could require 20–50+ panels.
Solar panels typically last 25–30 years. Solar pumps have a lifespan of 5–10 years depending on usage and maintenance. Controllers and wiring generally last 10–15 years. The ROI is excellent — most systems pay for themselves within 2–3 years compared to generator costs.

💰 Costs & Payments

Borehole drilling costs in Kenya typically range from KES 250,000 to KES 800,000+ depending on depth, location, and geology. A full package including survey, drilling, casing, pump, and solar can range from KES 400,000 to KES 1.5M. We provide detailed, transparent quotes with no hidden costs.
Yes. For large projects, we offer structured payment plans: typically 40% deposit to mobilize, 40% during drilling, and 20% upon completion. For institutional or community projects, we can discuss flexible arrangements. Contact us to discuss your specific situation.
Our quoted price is based on the site survey and project scope. We commit to the quoted price unless unforeseen geological conditions require deeper drilling (which we always discuss transparently before proceeding). There are no surprise charges.

📋 Process & Timeline

Step 1: Free consultation & site visit. Step 2: Hydrogeological survey (1–2 days). Step 3: Quote & contract signing. Step 4: Rig mobilization. Step 5: Drilling (3–10 days). Step 6: Pump testing & water analysis. Step 7: Pump & solar installation. Step 8: Final testing, documentation & client handover.
Once a contract is signed and deposit received, we can typically mobilize within 2–4 weeks depending on our current project schedule. Urgent projects can often be fast-tracked. Contact us to discuss your timeline requirements.

🔧 Maintenance & Support

Yes. We offer comprehensive after-sales support including annual borehole servicing, pump maintenance, solar panel cleaning, and emergency repair services. We also offer annual service contracts for peace of mind. Our technical team is reachable 24/7 via WhatsApp for emergencies.
We provide a 12-month workmanship warranty on all installations. Solar panels come with a 25-year performance warranty from the manufacturer. Pumps typically carry a 1–2 year manufacturer warranty. We also offer extended service agreements for ongoing support.
